Northern Currents - Fall 2000Print This Page

Greetings from the sunny Yukon,

I hope you are enjoying a great fall season. Here in the Yukon, winter has set in and we are already enjoying skiing on the trails at higher elevations.

This summer season was the best ever. Our reputation for consistently great holidays seems to be paying off. The greatest difficulty was having to turn people away because the dates they wanted were full. The best news is that with the strong bookings we also seem to be able to maintain the small business, family style approach that has proved popular over the years. Not only does this ensure a great experience for our guests but it also allows our task to remain in the "labour of love" category. It is truly a privilege to engage in the creation of events that are destined to be one of the highlights of others lives. Already we are experiencing the earliest and strongest bookings ever - some of you are back for your 7th trip - we must be doing something right!

We are living in exciting times, especially where things natural are involved. The north in particular is on the cusp of new horizons. This year, Northern Currents will feature a number of exciting stories about northern changes. In this issue the changes include the passing of a great friend of Nahanni National Park and a new and promising outlook for expansion of the Park.

I have included next year's dates in this mailing. If you are anticipating a river or sea kayaking holiday for next season, please let us know soon so that we can ensure you receive the dates you wish.

The north is now shifting from autumn to winter. The mountain view that we enjoy out our window is now white and the ski trails inviting.

Please keep in touch. There are few things we enjoy more than discussing river expeditions (next to taking one that is).

Best wishes for the upcoming season.

Sincerely,
