Of course, we feel you would most enjoy it via one of the majestic northern rivers – but seriously, tourism is a critical key to buffer our local economy from “mega projects” and poorly regulated resource extraction schemes.

The concept of ecotourism was originally conceived to provide an alternative to the large, damaging footprints of southern resorts and their effects on local cultures. In the north we espouse Responsible Tourism. Traveling softly on the land and contributing directly to the local economy is a huge boost to preserving northern wilderness.

It is critical that we show that each uncut tree, each roadless mile, each undeveloped river bank, has an economic value in it’s undeveloped form. Especially when you travel with a company based in the north, your travel dollars are a direct vote for the value of wild spaces in a pristine state.
