The days are already getting longer here. The sun is setting on the Mountains across the valley after 9 pm.
Thanks to those who have written to government and Park officials concerning the mine and road threats to Nahanni National Park. I have included an update inside. We need all of the support we can get. We have arranged with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society to operate special trips on the Nahanni this season to raise the critical level of awareness of the Park and its issues. If you know of anyone who has considered visiting the Nahanni, please urge him or her to come this year. We must rally support immediately.
We have also recently learned of a plan for seismic testing with an "air canon" from a barge on the river, downstream of the Park Boundary.
