Helpful References

Ram PlateauEnjoy easy alpine walking in one of the majestic highlights of the newly expanded Nahanni Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ram Plateau is a spectacular flat topped dolomite dome, rising out of the Mackenzie Mountains, incised with dramatic canyons and covered in wild flowers. Dall sheep, caribou, grizzlies, and raptors are among the large species we may see. From our comfortable alpine base camp we hike each day to explore a different aspect of the plateau and seek out wildlife and flowers. Small caves hold unique biological secrets. Crystal clear springs provide a convenient source of water. Experienced naturalists say the Ram has one of the most verdant alpine habitats on earth. On the Ram, you feel like you are on top of the world.

Prerequisites: Comfortable with trail hiking.
